How to use Heurio
Browser & Comment View
Switch between Comment View (click any element to add a heurio) and Browser View (navigate the live site with all heurios visible) in the Heurio Chrome extension.
TL;DR: Comment View captures clicks to pin new heurios. Browser View lets the website handle clicks so you can navigate while still seeing every existing heurio.
Heurio offers users a flexible way to interact with websites by providing two distinct views when activating the Heurio Extension:
- Comment View: Allows users to select any element of the website and add heurios directly to them. The Heurio comment popup appears, facilitating detailed, element-specific feedback.
- Browser View: Allows users to interact with the website and navigate between website pages seamlessly while keeping the Heurio UI visible. In this mode, users can see all previously placed heurios, making it easier to understand feedback contextually.

#Why this matters
Most review tools force you to choose: either you can click around the website normally or you can pin comments — not both. Heurio's two-mode setup keeps reviews fast: switch to Browser View to reach the next page, then flip back to Comment View to leave a heurio. The overlay stays on, so you never lose visual context.

Frequently asked questions
- When should I use Comment View vs. Browser View?
- Use Comment View when you want to leave new feedback — every click selects an element and opens the comment popup. Use Browser View when you need to navigate between pages, fill out forms, or interact with the site while keeping all existing heurios visible.
- How do I switch between the two views?
- Toggle the view using the icons in the Heurio overlay's top corner. The active mode is highlighted; switching is instant and does not lose your place on the page.
- Can I see other teammates' heurios in Browser View?
- Yes. Browser View renders every existing heurio in the project as a pin on the page, so you can read teammates' feedback in the context of the live website without leaving the page.
- Do clicks in Browser View create new comments?
- No. Browser View passes clicks through to the website so you can navigate normally. Switch to Comment View when you want to start pinning new feedback.
