How to use Heurio
Invite Team Members
Invite teammates to your Heurio project by email with 'Can edit' or 'Can view' permissions — from either the Chrome extension or the web app — for shared visual feedback on any live website.
How to invite team members to a Heurio project
Total time: 1 min- Step 1
Open the Share popup
In the Heurio extension click the Share icon in the bottom left corner. In the web app click the blue 'Share' button in the top right of the project page.
- Step 2
Enter teammate email addresses
Type one or more email addresses. Heurio sends each teammate an invitation with a link to the project.
- Step 3
Choose 'Can edit' or 'Can view'
Pick the permission level. 'Can edit' lets the teammate add and modify heurios; 'Can view' is read-only and is appropriate for stakeholders or clients.
In short: open Share (extension: bottom-left, web app: top-right), enter teammates' emails, and pick 'Can edit' or 'Can view'.
Heurio provides various options for sharing projects so the whole team can review the same website together. This guide covers email invitations specifically; see also Share Project Link for link-based sharing.

#When to use each option
- Email invitations — best when you need controlled, auditable access (clients, contractors, named teammates).
- Project link — best for read-only stakeholder reviews, password-protected previews, or organization-wide access on the Organization plan.
- Teams (Organization plan) — best when the same group should be added to many projects at once.
Frequently asked questions
- Do my invitees need to install the Chrome extension?
- Only if they want to add new heurios on the live website. Reviewers with 'Can view' or 'Can edit' permissions can read and reply to comments in the Heurio web app at heurio.app without installing anything.
- What's the difference between 'Can edit' and 'Can view'?
- 'Can edit' lets the teammate create new heurios, change severities, assign owners, and resolve comments. 'Can view' is read-only — they can see every heurio and reply in threads, but can't change them.
- Can I share a project without inviting individual emails?
- Yes. Use a shareable project link instead of email invitations — see Share Project Link. You can require a password and set the link as public, private, or organization-wide.
- How many people can I invite to a project?
- There's no hard limit on the number of invitees. Paid seats are required to give users edit permissions on Organization plans — see the Assign Seats doc for details.
